Yesterday afternoon, by a razor-thin margin, the Senate voted to delay anti-Israel former Senator Chuck Hagel's nomination for Secretary of Defense.
This is a tremendous victory, but a very fragile victory. Another vote will come within days, and now is the time to tell the Senate that we cannot accept a Secretary of Defense who appeases Iran and opposes Israel.
New revelations pour in every day. Yesterday, it was reported that Senator Hagel claimed the State Department was controlled by Israel – adding yet another outrageous statement to a long line of statements against Israel and against Americans who support Israel.
The Senate must continue to hear your voice. Deliver a clear message to the Senators who voted against Senator Hagel: Stand firm – Senator Hagel is not the right person to head up the Department of Defense. Do not yield to media pressure.
